GUI Design
HomePage

Description
I would like to create a simple yet understandable and interesting page for people to see and enjoy it.

Objective
I’m in charge in Accommodation part. Here is the explanation of my GUI Design.

This page would be the homepage. There is a banner on top of this page. The banner would be photoshop and one of the photo is Sungai Itek, Gopeng. After that, I would use the flash to contain a few pictures of it. This is to let people briefly see and know what is Sungai Itek about. On the left hand side shows a few links which are Home, About Us, Packages, Accommodation, How to Get There and Gallery. They will be made by using dreamweaver.

Accommodation Page

This is the page of  'Accommodation'. Banner is remains the same, yet others have some changes. For 'Accommodation', it would be separated and break into 2 sub categories which are 'what to bring' and 'things provided' for reader's reference. The sub categories would make it as buttons. Therefore, it needed use of dreamweaver and photoshop to make it as well.

Flow Chart

Accommodation and foods - briefly describe about foods provided there and how is the accommodation      condition. It tells us what is special over there.

What to bring – Let them know what to bring for those activities. For example, T shirts, pants

Things provided – Inform them what are provided there. For instance, life jacket.

Description of Accommodation

Best accommodation in Sungai Gopeng is Adeline's Rest House or known as Rumah Rehat Adeline in Malay. Adeline's Rest House is located at Kampung Geruntum near Sungai Itik, 7KM away from Perak town of Gopeng. The accommodation in Adeline's Rest House consists of several traditional style houses which give us a feelings of nature and tensions away from workplace.

Within walking distance from the Rest House a sparkling waterfall tumbles its way down an obstacle course of boulders through shady forest.  This is also the haunt of White crowned Forktail.  Eventually the turbulent river levels off to a more meandering route to create some quieter pools that are safe for bathing. For those with a keen interest in nature there are some excellent opportunities for pastimes such as photography, bird and butterfly watching, as well as more active outdoor pursuits. Besides, the famous Rafflesia flower grows here. You can see it here without even going to Sarawak.

More strenuous activities such as jungle-trekking,white-water rafting on the Kampar River, abseiling, and exploration of the nearby Gua Kandu cavesare also available.
A qualified guide can be hired for any of these activities at a reasonable fee.  Transport can also be organised through Adeline for those wishing to visit the caves.

Below are the pictures of Adeline's Rest House.

Experience guide demonstrated to rafters on how to wear life jacket, helmet and using paddles during whitewater rafting.

The Food in Rumah Adeline include BBQ and bamboo soup. Very tempting.
This is the bed. Nice yet comfortable.

What to Bring

What to Bring & Do:
Change of clothes (for changing after rafting - please take note, after rafting, all guest are require to clean up (shower & change clothing) before boarding), towel, spare shoe or sandals and don't forget to bring a sense of adventure / fun / humor / enthusiasm and a flexible attitude!

What to Wear, Wear comfortable, sandals, T-shirt, long or short pants.

Safety and Precaution
Rafting is safer then crossing road
1.We always ensure all the participants wear a life jacket.
2.We do not overload the raft.
3.We do not go rafting after/during a heavy rain.
4.Our guides are qualified and well trained.
5.We well know local weather conditions. We make sure the water and weather conditions are safe. Because water conducts electricity, it is wise to stop swimming, boating, or any activities on the water as soon as you see or hear lightning.

Practical Rafting Tips
All rafters will be given a safety briefing before the ride and will be shown basic backward and forward paddling techniques. Always check that the helmets and life jackets provided fit you well and are not too tight or too loose.

Your life jacket will buoy you in the eventuality of the raft overturning. If you've over-turned close to the river bank, don't use your raft paddle, as you may hit someone else. Do not attempt to use the paddle as a lever against rocks as you risk getting hit by it.

The following are some points to remember:

1.Bring a change of clothes. A warm-up jacket is also a good idea.
2.Wear well-fitting shoes, rubber shoes or sandals.
3.Jewellery which cannot be secured firmly should not be worn while rafting.
4.Those wearing glasses are reminded to use an elastic sports band to anchor their spectacles.
5.Contact lens users are advised to wear spectacles instead, in order to cut down the risk of their lenses getting contaminated by river water.
